A graduate of Pratt Institute in New York, where he spent his childhood and young adult years, Joshua's training has focused on realism and his subjects are depicted accordingly. His education has included study in Venice, Italy, and his professional growth has involved participation in art league seminars as well as his own teaching of students. Since moving to Chicago many years ago, Joshua works from his home studio painting primarily in response to commissioned works. He produces a range of pieces including oil on canvas portraits, sculpture, wearable art, and scratchboard etchings featuring private individuals, animals, and prominent people. He considers talent a gift and continues to work honing his skills and developing his own unique, representational style.
