susan margin

Susanne Margin was born in New York.  As a young child,her favorite activities involved sewing cards and watching bits of colored glass weave forms in her kaleidoscope. She expresses her love of warp and weft and ancient basketry in her ceramic sculptures of woven hand coiled clay.

She studied drawing and painting at the Art Student's League in Manhattan,and at Long Island University.  Susanne and her husband owned antique print galleries on L.I. before moving to Santa Fe N.M. in 1995. There, she attended workshops at Santa Fe clay and studied privately at the studio of Heidi Lowen.

In 2003, Margin exhibited in The Show at the Museum of Fine Arts Santa Fe juried by Susan Rothenberg and Charles Steinback.   September 2005, Susanne exhibited in the show Originals at the Santa Fe Museum sponsored by the National Museum of Women in the Arts.  Susanne currently resides in San Diego.
