Seattle based multi-disciplinary artist Seth Sexton creates meticulous pen and ink drawings. Central to his work are repetition, pattern, and meditation; expressed through he accretion of circular marks into concise states of order. The obsessive application of mark making leaves the viewer with an acute sense of time and duration; with some of his works taking months and even years to complete.
Sexton’s current work suggests, that the circle transcends into a dream-like meditation where the mundane becomes profound. The resulting images are natural and biological forms emanating elegant specificity and sacred geometry. His work explores the circuitous path between, physiology, biology, and psychology, where mental order and disorder are often at the crux.
