I grew up in Brittany, France where I studied art at The Beaux-arts in Rennes. After moving to the USA in Oklahoma City, I started to print at the Paseo Intaglio Printers and to show my art in group and individual shows. My art work was shown in Florida, Missouri, California, Illinois, Minnesota, Indiana and in Japan. I moved later to Philadelphia where I got involved with the Women Caucus for Art and Art at the Armory. After three years, I went back to Europe. In Italy, Austria, and France, my work was exhibit in several galleries. In Brittany for four years, I reconnect with my roots and was invited in the Euroceltic festival. During this stay in Europe, my work was still shown in the United States and is part of private and public collections, Hyatt hotel Hawaii, Mayo clinic Minneapolis and in Oklahoma, Health Science Center, Coach House restaurant, Irish Realty among many others collections. I attended the Art Festival there 11 times and was the poster artist in 1992. I had several one person shows in Oklahoma .the Norick Art Center OCU, City Art Center, Pickard gallery, Untitled gallery and Nault Fine art.
In Philadelphia and in Bethesda where I lived now, I have shown my work in different exhibits.
The first things that one sees, when one looks at my artwork, are the
colors. In fact, using paint, pencil, pastel and collage I build up my work.
I use whatever comes to my mind and help me to achieve the texture
and the effect that will catch the eye.
My work is always connected to my life. It is really difficult to dissociate my personal life from my art .In fact, how could one know if this mad line in this drawing is the sketch of a flower or if her sharp turns and arabesques outline the itinerary of a wandering life between Austria, Italy, France and the USA? I have always work with series with themes interconnected with each other ,identity, relationships, literature…The following series are more connected to my childhood.
I am currently the recipient of the Fleur and Charles Bressler residency at Visarts in Rockville (MD). I am working on a project linking art and play “Playtime, draw the line”. I realized that if my art is inspired by my childhood and more precisely games of the schoolyard, I want these games to be played in the real world on sidewalks and public spaces. I feel the need to push the limits of the studio, open the windows and look for more open spaces. At the same time, I am painting scenes of kids playing these universal games, I not only want my art to be inspired by memories but also to be inspiring .I want to encourage kids and their families to play hopscotch, marbles, cat‘s cradle and more.
In September with Visarts, my paintings will be exhibited and the community will be invited to play in the square
