Stefanie Herr (Frankfurt/Main, Germany, 1974) is a visual artist based in Barcelona, Spain,
who may be best known for her intricately hand crafted photo sculptures. Having graduated
in Architecture from TU Berlin in 2001, she had been initially working as an architect until she decided to change career paths in 2007. Herr’s experimental practice oscillates between the domains of photography and sculpture, encompassing both photographic sculpture and sculpture-based photography. Since 2009, her work has been featured in numerous group and solo shows, including Food Justice (2020), Contemporary Craft, Pittsburgh (US); International Paper Triennial (2020), Musée Charmey, Charmey (CH); BFOTO (2019), El Moliné, Barbastro (ES); OSTRALE Biennale (2019), Historische Tabakfabrik f6 Striesen, Dresden (DE); The Best Design of the Year (2017), Museu del Disseny, Barcelona (ES); Premi d´Escultura Fundació Vila Casas (2015), Can Mario, Palafrugell (ES); Feast (2014), Islington Mill, Manchester (UK).
