Susan Handau

Susan Handau is an American born painter. She works predominantly in mixed media. Her paintings are a mix of wax, oil, acrylic, ink, graphite and various fiber materials. Susan completed a BA in Art History at the University of Nevada, Reno in 1997. In 2000, she spent a year touring through Europe expanding her art history knowledge.

Spring of 2016, she had a solo show in the Post Gallery and Van Bokkelen Gallery at St. Mary’s Art Center in Virginia City, Nevada. She has had solo shows in the John Ben Snow Memorial Trust Art Gallery in Reno, Nevada, the Getchell Library at the University of Nevada, Reno as well as private showings in Frankfurt, Germany and Reno, Nevada.

She was featured as a demonstrating artist in 2015 at the Beverly Hills Art Show. In 2006, she received a Professional Endowment Grant from Sierra Arts Foundation. She took 1st place in painting at the 1999 North Kitsap Art Show in Port Gamble, Washington. In 1998, she was given an Honorable Mention in painting from the Beverly Hills Art Show. She lives and works in Reno, Nevada.
