Susan Zimmerman

As a ceramicist and photographer I have my hands in two media. My organic and figurative handbuilt sculptures are a fusion of contemporary and ancient which are then smokefired. Asymmetrical shapes are an intrinsic part of my work, as is naturalness and simplicity. Creating my clayscape photography involves “resculpting” the finished work, using natural light and shadow, that reimagines the piece.
