Tim received his MFA from the University of Illinois, where
he studied with artist Frank Gallo and Bill Carlson. He received
two esteemed fellowships with the University of Illinois
(1979) and the National Endowment for the Arts (1984). He
has worked as a consultant with the DC Commission on the
Arts and Humanities, DC Art Works Murals Project, Council
on Foundations, and Arlington County Arts & Planning Commission.
Tim’s work has been widely exhibited in galleries around the
United States, including Washington, DC, Chicago, and New
York, as well as the Banneker-Douglass Museum (Maryland)
and the Embassies of Ghana, Venezuela, and
Ethiopia (Washington, DC). He has many
paintings in private and corporate collections,
including the Freddie Mac Corporation (Washington,
DC) and Stellar Communications (Washington,
