As an abstract artist the basis of Blinn Jacobs work has been a dialogue between polygonal “shaped” constructs and the use of “painterliness” in regard to the interaction of color.

Blinn Jacobs studied at the Yale School of Art for four years and received her MFA in painting from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993.
Her work has been in numerous one-person shows including the Giampietro Gallery, New Haven, CT; Paul Mellon Arts Center Gallery, Choate Rosemary Hall, Wallingford, CT; Artifact Gallery, New York, NY; University of Wyoming Art Museum, Laramie, WY; Kunstlerhaus, Schwandorf, Germany; Second Street Gallery, Charlottesville, VA; Kehler Liddell Gallery, New Haven CT; Chester Gallery, Chester CT and Creative Arts Workshop, New Haven, CT. Many group shows include, the Mattatuck Museum, Hammond Museum, Dublin Biennial, Florence Biennale, Faber Birren National Color Show and the Painting Center. In addition, she has installed eight site specific ribbon installations.
Blinn has received awards twice from the Connecticut Commission on the Arts, and from the Mattatuck Museum, Farber Birren Color Show, and the Slivermine Arts Center. In addition, she has had seven fellowships from the Virginia Center for Creative Arts and an international residency at the Oberpfalzer Kunstlerhaus in Schwandorf, Germany.
Essays in catalogs documenting her work have accompanied major one-person exhibitions in addition to reviews in the New Haven Register, Yale Daily News, various Zeitungs in Germany, and multiple brochures and blogs.
Her work is in private and public collections including the University of Wyoming Art Museum and the city of Schwandorf, Germany.
