Inspired by seeing a huge Van Gogh exhibit in San Francisco at age twelve Bay Area native Tim Phelan has since embarked on a lifelong journey of exploration in the visual arts field. Although majoring in painting at San Jose state University, Phelan considers himself self taught, learning his style and techniques from observation and experience. He is always looking for new paths to express himself through his painting and sculptures, feeling the freedom to easily step from different styles at any time, while keeping his own unique ever growing visual vocabulary.
