Todd Lowery

Todd Lowery, born in 1964 in Springfield, Missouri, is a painter and multidisciplinary artist. He currently holds the position of Professor of Design and Fine Arts at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri, where he has taught since 1994.
Lowery earned his Master of Fine Arts degree at the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 1993, following his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Missouri State University in 1988.
Since 2007, he has been dividing his time and residence between the American Midwest and the Petralona neighborhood of Athens, Greece.
His artistic practice considers the experiential and psychological qualities of place and place-making, often selecting locations in Greece and Cyprus as his primary sources of inspiration. The paintings he creates serve as abstract and representational hybrids that are meant to be experienced and felt in ways that resonate analogously with the places that inspire them.
Todd’s work has become a part of various private and public collections, such as Eurobank Cyprus Headquarters, RED HR Headquarters, and the Phoenix Leaders Club located in Nicosia. Additionally, his work can be found in the Public Art Collections of Östersund City and Jämtland County, the Found.Ation in Athens, and nForm Architecture in Springfield.
He has been widely shown in solo and group exhibitions, including the Michael Cacoyannis Foundation and the Phoenix Gallery in Athens, the McGill Galleries in Montréal, IsNotGallery in Nicosia, Galleri S in Östersund, the Arnados Cultural Center in Tinos, and Raum Für Drastische Maßnahmen in Berlin.
