Charles received his Bachelor of Professional Arts Degree from the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. He studied drawing
under the guidance of Lorser Feitelson, Joseph Henniger and Gene Fleury.
In 1966 Charles started his commercial art career with J.Walter Thompson Co., at the time the largest ad agency in the world. His art is owned by Fortune 500 companies and is in private collections
in the U.S. and Europe.
His passion is watercolor and his mentor his John Pike. Charles
has studied under the guidance of John’s teaching for many years. He is also influenced by John Singer Sargent, Charles Hawthorne, and William Merritt Chase.
Currently Charles teaches computer illustration and design at
Nassau Community College. He gives numerous workshops and lectures in libraries throughout Nassau County and is a member of The Huntington Arts Council and Salmagundi Club.
