As the daughter of a saddle maker in the historic Stockyards of Ft. Worth, Texas, Vonnie Kohn was accustomed early in life to the smell of leather, the jingling of spurs, and Stetson hats. This early exposure inspired a love for the American West. Her Native roots contributed to portrayals of Contemporary Native American life. Her credits include a BFA in fine art, sculptor in the lost wax process, workshop instructor, national juror, and the recipient of numerous national awards.
