Louise Schiele

From an early age, Louise was using her hands to create. Always interested in how things work, how things were put together, it's not surprising to see what she creates now that she's in her sixties and working full time in her art. Louise has worked in fiber most of her life. Self taught in many art forms, Louise leans toward the contemporary surface design, creating original images using unusual techniques, always making her finished product "one of a kind". "Color and design are the most important elements to the successful finished art piece. Now I use my sewing machine to add "thread play" to shadow and create contrasts giving the work the depth it needs to come off the wall at the viewer".
