Wolf Gomez is an innovative mixed–media artist and explorer who is passionate about transforming environments and shifting attitudes and perceptions with art. She is the founder of ImageMind, an organization dedicated to igniting creative expression and highlighting the richness of our cultural inter-connectivity through visual imagery. Wolf is well known for being able to demystify the artistic process and spark the motivation to explore ways art symbolically reflects life’s experiences.
Wolf’s fascination with art began at the age of 6 when she discovered the impact of color and crayons on a wall. Initially a self-taught watercolor artist in her teen years, she later migrated to painting professionally with oils on canvas in the “Disappearing Island” landscape series. A trailblazer, early on Wolf left her successful art career in Trinidad with her sights set on the USA and California to further develop her creative talent. The move provided a first hand understanding of being a cultural bridge and the need to express life transitions. Her art became charged with creatively exploring internal states of being while embracing unfamiliar environments.
Gifted at inspiring others to exceed their creative goals,Wolf has been professionally active in the San Francisco Bay Area Arts industry for over 25 years. The result is an expansive body of work that includes painting, mixed media collage, photography and writing. Her extensive education includes a BFA from California College of the Arts and a BA minor in Creative Arts Therapy. With her dedication to personal and academic growth she later accomplished an MA in Arts Education & Digital Technologies from San Francisco State University. Highlighted exhibitions have been in San Francisco, Hawaii, Los Angeles and Trinidad & Tobago with her private art collectors in the USA, Spain and London.
In her current series “A Living Ritual” Wolf explores the concept of transformation through images of cultural festivals. She ingeniously bridges the worlds of bold color with paint and photography. Wolf’s images highlight the richness of our cultural inter-connectedness.
Wolf’s personal experiences have given her a profound understanding of the challenges that arise during life’s transitions. A champion of healthy creative change, her artwork sparks the courage to look past the familiar and step into expansive visions of new possibilities.
